Luang Prabang City Tour

Seasonal Touring:
Start from 08:30am.Transfer from our Resort to the charming city of Luang Prabang where you will see traditional customs and buildings of the local populace. You will go sightseeing in the local Phosy Market to look at the local products. Listen to Laotians communicate and haggle during the sale.

After enjoying the market, you will continue the tour to the former Royal Palace. This site was one of the most important in Laos: not only because the monarchy resided here from 1909 to 1975, but also because in 1976, it became the Luang Prabang National Museum. The museum includes the Wat Mai Temple sharing a corner with this site. Afterwards, you will drive to the oldest temple, Wat Xiengthong. This temple was spared during the Chinese invasion of 1887 and thus remains in a great condition. (The Royal Palace is closed on Tuesdays.)

You will take a lunch break at the local restaurant. After you enjoy your lunch you will continue by visiting the Visounarath Temple. This site was the Luang Prabang National Museum in 1943 and remains the biggest temple in Luang Prabang. This site includes a watermelon stupa. By visiting Aham Temple, you will be able to watch the performance of traditional Buddhist life. The next stop is the Ethnology Center, the Ethnic Minority Museum. The collection of 49 minorities and their lives as well as the historical background of the minority groups is presented in this museum. (The Ethnology Center is closed on Mondays.) Your tour continues: you walk up to the colourful mountain. This is a famous tourist site, known to many as “the sunset hill”, where you can enjoy a splendid view of Luang Prabang. Afterwards, a relaxing walk through the city's center will follow. You can find fascinating souvenirs at the night market or the handicraft market, with the latter especially welcoming the products made by ethnic minorities at their home for an extra income.
